The Czech koruna closes today session at 28,23 Kč/EUR, flat from yesterday. The trading was quiet even after today events. Neither the Czech central bank nor the ECB surprised, the rates in the CR and eurozone stayed on hold as expected. Following statements were also in line with previous expectations on future interest rates paths, so the overal influence on the FX market was modest. The CZK slightly reacted on the HUF weakening before the end of the day, but didn´t go down significantly.
The CZK has lost against the US dollar as the American currency is gaining versus the euro. The Trichet´s speech helped the euro to go a bit stronger, but following US data were in overal better than expected and improved mood on the USD before tomorrow payrolls. The USD/EUR rate now stands at the 1,2800 level.
