The new Minister for Trade and Industry,Martin Riman, said that privatization of CEZ, where the state holds 68%, Czech Airlines and the Airport is not on the agenda of the new Government as these are long-term projects.
Our view:
We agree with Riman’s comments, as we remind that the new ODS minority Government must win a vote of confidence by 4 October and it is likely that it will not win it. In any case, the new Government is aiming to bring the country into early elections next year and therefore, it does not have enough time to realize these privatizations. We do not expect CEZ to be sold before 2007.
