The Czech koruna started firmer today, trying to catch up with yesterday positive move of its regional peers. But the momentum quickly vanished and the CZK again lagged behind the firming zloty and forint. Today, Czech PPI and the current account balance were released, but neither of them surprised the market. The overal impact on the CZK/EUR rate was therefore marginal. The CZK/EUR stands at 28,27 by the end of the day, slightly stronger than yesterday.
The US dollar is firming against the major currencies and as well against the CZK. It´s now traded at 1,2490 USD/EUR and 22,64 CZK/USD respectively. The dollar profits from US macro data again, even though they are rather mixed. The market still looks mainly for the positive news on the USD.
