After six growth days the market decreased by more than 0.6% on the profit taking in the whole CE3 region. The main Prague’s benchmark Index PX was surprisingly up for almost whole day being held up by Erste Bank and CEZ. Philip Morris fell well below the CZK 11,000 level on an no buying interest. CEZ reached the CZK 824 intraday, but was sold-off toward the end of the session and closed at the day low of the CZK 812. Erste Bank (EB) decreased after recent rally, but its CEO’s comments that can not rule out the hostile takeover came after the market close in Czech and will support the EB tomorrow.
Telfonica O2 CR (Cesky Tel) showed a quite good performance in the comparison with its peers TPSA and MTEL, but finally finished at the day low of the CZK 442. Zentiva decline to the CZK 1,305 and admitted profit taking, however outperformed its Hungarian peers. CME gaining almost 2% was the only stock closing in the positive territory on no news, both international and domestic accounts were on the buy side.
