The Czech koruna closed at 28,36 CZK/EUR after another calm day. We saw no local news today. In the region, the Polish central bank has kept the interest rates unchanged, as expected. The meeting therefore had no special impact on markets. Together, the CE region hadn´t common direction that could drag the CZK.
The CZK has firmed against the US dollar and ended at 22,54 CZK/USD. The move has its reason at the USD/EUR market. The dollar gradually weakens on international markets before today Fed meeting. The rates should stay on hold, but the statement of Ben Bernanke can bring some suggestions about future Fed policy.
