CEZ plans to offers three new tariffs for retail customers to avoid the decrease of market share due to alternative energy suppliers. Current tariff Comfort will be completed with cheaper Basic and more expensive Exclusive. Basic users will save about CZK 10/month; Exclusive program should be more expensive by CZK 15/month. Programs differ in range of services provided to customers.
Our view:
Current market share of CEZ in the retail and small enterprises segment stands at 62.7% and among medium and large enterprises at slightly less than 45%. The evidence from last two years in latter segment showed 12% decrease in CEZ’s market share as a natural consequence of electricity market liberalization. Competition is expected to affect also retail segment, however we believe this decrease would be lower due to lower attractiveness in comparison to medium and large enterprises.
