• Czech republic and Nomura agreed to call a truce in legal case of IPB. Czech finance minister Tlusty said that the Czech state would pay at maximum 7 bln. CZK to Nomura. Tlusty will ask president Klaus to pardon Nomura managers investigated in the Czech republic.
• Bank board of CNB has kept interest rates on hold, as expected. The decision was unanimous. Key 2-week repo stays at 2,50 %. Governor Tůma said that antiinflationary risks prevail – these are oil price decrease and stronger Czech koruna against both, the euro and dollar.
• Estonia rejected official plans for Euro adoption scheduled for January 2008. The main reason is the failure of inflation criteria. The new date was not specified.
• The unemployment rate in Germany decreased to 9.6% in November from 9.8% in September. The number of jobseekers decreased by 90,000 to 3.995m.
• Also retail sales in Germany declined in real terms by 0.2% in October in comparison with the previous month. Year-on-year reduction by 0.8%.
