The Czech market closed higher by 0.44% due to strong CEZ and Philip Morris performance. Overall PX Index added nice 7.5% in 2006 and in USD terms about 25%. Today we lack liquidity on the market, nevertheless we saw international interest in Czech stocks, main targets were CEZ and Telefonica O2 CR. Philip Morris showed the best performance of the day 2.35% and corrected its quite poor performance of 2006 loosing without dividend more than 40%. Komercni banka slightly decreased with resistance on the CZK 3,100 level. Regional markets had mixed performance. Polish WIG20 lost 0.62% after fall of banking sector and KGHM. On the other hand Hungarian BUX increased 0.62% led up by MOL and OTP. But liquidity remains low on mentioned markets as well, when investors were holding back.
