The Czech koruna ends today trading at 27,70 CZK/EUR, only a little stronger compared to yesterday. But, today session was more volatile: The CZK was influenced by swings on the euro-dollar market. First, the euro was gaining, when the surprising BoE rate hike supported expectations on simmilar step of the ECB. The ECB, however, has kept rates on hold and then, Mr. Trichet came in with a less hawkish statement than expected. The euro so fell against the dollar and started to loose also to the CZK and other CE currencies.
The CZK closed weaker against the US dollar at 21,49 CZK/USD as the American currency surged to 1,2896 USD to an euro after the ECB.
