Russia's environmental watchdog Rostekhnadzor will shortly conclude its examination of the Unecha-Polotsk section of the Druzhba oil pipeline, where an accident last July resulted in a cut in pipeline shipments to Mazeikiu Nafta, Rostekhnadzor head Konstantin Pulikovsky told Interfax. An examination of the segment, where the accident occurred, will be completed in three-four weeks and in a month time Rostekhnadzor will be able to say what caused the accident and how long it will take to repair.
Our view: The checks last 8 months already, which gives a hope for very precise and thorough identification of the reasons for leaking. We think the information is already priced in and not many calculate with the early pipeline restart.
