The Czech market traded lower yesterday on very thin volumes as US markets were closed. Telefónica O2 pulled the whole PX index lower due to trading ex-dividend rights (CZK 40).

Shares on the Prague Stock Exchange fell on Friday on above-average trading activity, despite overall positive sentiment on the Continent. The PX index closed 0.6 percent lower at 1,171.1 points, pulled down by losses of the most liquid stocks.

CEZ will scale back investments next year as it is not clear that electricity prices will continue to rise, Trading Director Alan Svoboda said. A lack of transparency in commodity prices makes a return on investment difficult to predict, he added.
