Business Summary: iShares Global Healthcare ETF (the Fund), formerly iShares S&P Global Healthcare Sector Index Fund, is an exchange-traded fund (ETF). The Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance of the S&P Global 1200 Healthcare Sector Index (the Index). The Index measures the performance of companies that Standards & Poor’s Financial Services LLC (S&P) deems to be a part of the consumer staples sector of the economy. It is a subset of the S&P Global 1200 Index. Component companies include healthcare providers, biotechnology companies and manufacturers of medical supplies, advanced medical devices and pharmaceuticals. The Underlying Index consists of stocks of companies in countries, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. The Fund’s investment advisor is BlackRock Fund Advisors (BFA).
Financial Summary: BRIEF: For the six months ended 30 September 2014, iShares S&P Global Healthcare Sect.(ETF) revenues increased 26% to $10.4M. Net income increased 37% to $95.8M. Revenues reflect Securities Lending Income increase from $8K to $17K. Net income benefited from In-Kind Redemption Unaffiliated increase from $13.4M to $27.4M (income), Unrealized Appreciation and Depreciation increase of 14% to $59.5M (income).
