A working group consisting of representatives of the Czech National Bank (CNB), the Lower House of Parliament, a consumer group and the banking sector launched discussions regarding domestic banking fees yesterday. The group should present a number of recommendations by mid-August, which will be discussed by the Cabinet in September. The Cabinet may then recommend some changes in the legislature. Note that fees charged by domestic banks recently came under strong pressure from the government, the media and consumer groups.
