Cesky Telecom will not re-balance its tariffs at the beginning of the year as it has reached no agreement with the Czech Telecommunication Office (CTU). Note, that Cesky Telecom impaired part of its fixed line network (CZK 9.9 bn) in 2003, as it was not allowed to increase its tariffs sufficiently. CT claims that it is losing money as the costs for providing the universal service exceed its price. As there is no outcome of the negotiations with CTU so far, there is no need for further impairment at the moment.
