The PX-50 index rose 1.7% to 458.1 on Friday, establishing a 13-month high. Demand for Komercni banka and Philip Morris was mainly behind the market’s gain. Komercni added 4.8% to CZK 1,818, and Philip Morris strengthened to CZK 8,268, up 3.4%. Total market volume was USD 33.4 mil. The market today awaits a Cabinet decision on revised bids in the Cesky Telecom privatization tender. The market is likely to trade lower today, however, after US stock markets closed deep in negative territory on Friday.
