The PX-50 index gained modestly yesterday, adding 0.2% on an average volume of USD 17 mil. The biggest gainers were Unipetrol and ČEZ. Unipetrol added 2.4% on both foreign and local interest following Wednesday’s announcement that the government’s Unipetrol privatization committee had recommended McKinsey, WestLB, and EEIP as the tender winner for a financial adviser on the Unipetrol sale. ČEZ gained 0.9% on continued interest in the stock after a board-of-director proposed dividend of CZK 4.5 per share was announced. Philip Morris CR was the biggest loser yesterday, down 1,2% on local profit taking. Today, we expect a stable market with Unipetrol set to outperform.
