Dutch company LNM Holdings offers USD 175mln or CZK 6bn for the reviving of the Czech steel producer Nova Hut. The Czech government is in exclusive privatization talks with LNM Holdings. The amount comprises a capital injection and investment in purchase of a block of shares. The information was provided by spokesperson of LNM yesterday.
The cabinet agreed yesterday to sell Zetor to HTC Holding of Slovakia for CZK 310mln. From the public budget point of view, however, Zetor’s claims at Ceska konsolidacni agentura were worth CZK 4bn while adjustments were made only to Kc2.3bn worth of them.
The cabinet yesterday approved the purchase contract on 24 fighters Jas-39 Gripen. The fighters are worth CZK 52.5bn and weapons for CZK 7.2bn so the total price amounts CZK 60.2bn. The total costs including additional investment and operational expenditures would reach CZK 85bn. The purchase of the fighters might be financed by the sale of the state share in Cesky Telecom. The actual money shortage could be solved by short-term foreign loan mediated by The Czech export bank.
Spokesperson of Skoda Auto said yesterday that the total sale of Skoda cars fell by 9.1% to 107,277 units in 1Q of this year. Most cars were sold to the West Europe; the company exported 62,721 units to that destinations.
In March again, Polish labor market did not reach a breakeven point. The rate of unemployment still remains at a record minimum level of 18.1%.
