The Hungarian forint started the session at 263.10, weaker than on Wednesday afternoon. The unit held a tight range around 263.2 during weak trading until late afternoon when, driven by other emerging market currencies, firmed and ended at 261.85.
Today w hile eco calendar is again empty and fresh fiscal impetus is unlikely, external factors will remain decisive, especially US payrolls will be in focus. Weaker payrolls can support the forint but we do not expect any dramatic moves, while markets are cushioned by expectations of details of fiscal tightening measures.
