President Zeman indicated clearly on Czech Radio yesterday that he will not appoint Miroslava Nemcova of ODS as PM and said that he is instead choosing from among four names for a “government of experts.” His most difficult decision will come on Tuesday, he said, when he appoints the new PM. He apparently intends to name a caretaker government that would rule until the elections, either the regularly scheduled elections in May 2014 or early elections if Parliament dissolves itself. / Nemcova said that the government that takes over after early elections this fall will have big trouble putting together and passing the 2014 budget on time. A jump in the yields on Czech government bonds would lead to a rise in debt-servicing costs, she added.
