Stanislav Gross said he would still prefer forming a new majority Cabinet to leading a minority government with the support of the Communists. The Social Democrat (CSSD) leadership is to meet today to decide whether to start new talks with its former coalition parties, the Christian Democrats (KDU) and the Freedom Union (US-DEU), on creating a new government without Mr Gross. After the meeting the PM is to inform the president whether negotiations with coalition parties are definitively frozen. Note that a plan for the creation of a majority Cabinet with the current coalition parties failed last week as the leading Social Democrats (CSSD) did not agree with the other parties nominating their top leaders into the Cabinet.
