The local-based Euro weekly says that "Deutsche Telekom is reportedly interested in the state's 51% stake in Cesky Telecom and it is offering as much as CZK 130bn". Assuming that the amount is expressed is for 100% of CT's equity, this would correspond to CZK 404 per share. Nevertheless, another source cited by the weekly has denied this information.
Note that the privatization advisor should be selected by the end of April; the detailed privatization strategy should be then submitted by the advisor by the end of June 2004. The privatization itself is planned to start in H2 2004 and to be finished next year. The Danish TDC together with Goldman Sachs, the Czech PPF, and also Swisscom together with CVC Partners are reportedly interested in the CT privatization.
