The PX-50 index closed almost unchanged on Monday at 461.5 points. Overall, the session was rather quiet as the UK market was closed for a public holiday. Of the blue-chip stocks, CEZ continued to strengthen, with the combined interest of both domestic and international accounts pushing the stock above the CZK 92 level. Komercni banka led by way of volume yesterday with some USD 5.9 mil. worth of shares changing hands. Total market volume reached USD 20.2 mil. For today, we expect a weak local opening as US markets seem bound for a major correction, and as there is no major local news on the horizon. We expect only the limited participation of foreign investors.
Please note that Wednesday, May 8, is a public holiday in the Czech Republic; the PSE will be closed.
