The ruling coalition lost its one-seat majority in the 200-seat lower house of Parliament yesterday after a MP resigned from the Social Democrat parliamentary faction. The MP did not resign his seat or from the Social Democrat party, however. The loss of Parliamentary majority could endanger government-proposed public-finance reform, which Parliament is to begin debating today. Nevertheless, it seems likely at the moment that the reform proposal will be approved in the first reading, we believe.
