The PX-50 index gained 0.74% yesterday, with volume slightly exceeding USD 10.72 mil.; the trading activity was somewhat improved over Monday, but was still thin. CEZ was well demanded by institutional accounts, as was Philip Morris CR, which again attacked the CZK 12,000 level. Second-quarter GDP growth (2.5%) in the Czech Republic, reported yesterday morning, beat all estimates, but the data failed to stir the market. Today we expect a pronounced lack of news besides the commemoration of 9.11.01, which will make it the story of the day.
