According to the State Nuclear Safety Office, no significant safety problems were found during a safety assessment of the Temelin nuclear power plant, completed last week by international experts. The State Nuclear Safety Office did say that some technical changes could take place at Temelin should major adjustments be necessary, to which the stock could react negatively.
Temelin’s first reactor will be re-activated this week, on Wednesday (Czech Press Agency).
The Czech Press Agency also reports that a proposal toward the closing of the Czech Republic’s energy chapter (within the framework of EU accession) will be prepared by the EU this week. Reportedly, negotiations between the Czech Republic and Austria based on the Melk process could still lead to some modifications of the chapter. Neutral.
