Nuclear power plant Temelin will start this Friday operation of its first block after January shut-down that lasted three weeks longer then initially planned due to leak of 1,000 litres of slightly radioactive water. There will be another two month shut-down of the same block between August and October.
Our view:
We estimate the shut-down costs per one day is approximately
CZK 10.2m, total costs since the end of January are thus estimated at
CZK 367m. After second shut-down the installed capacity of the unit will be increase by additional 20MW from current 980MW. We see this news neutral for today’s trading.
