President Milos Zeman swore in the new 15-member government of Prime Minister Jiri Rusnok yesterday. The confidence vote in Parliament is scheduled for Aug-8. CSSD (Social Democrats, the biggest opposition party) First Vice Chair Michal Hasek stressed that early elections are his party’s priority. However, he said that if ODS, TOP 09 and LIDEM (the coalition) refuse to support the government, CSSD should formulate its position and consider voting to confirm the Rusnok government. This is better than the return of the old coalition, he said.
