CEO Daniel Roderick of Westinghouse said in Prague that only Russia is able to make nuclear fuel for the VVER reactors (bidding by Atomstroyexport) and that choosing the Russian bid for enlarging Temelín would make the CR dependent on that country.PM Necas said the cabinet wants to halt the ridiculous boom in renewable energy and have a stable energy source in the form of nuclear power, so that the state can guarantee reasonable electricity prices over the long term. He said that the boom in solar power can be prevented from spilling over into wind, biogas, etc. We cinsider this statement neutral, since it is in-line with official Czech energy strategy.
