CEZ remains the only bidder interested in the nuclear assets of Slovenske elektrarne (SE), the dominant Slovak power producer, said Slovak Industry Minister R. Nemcsics yesterday. The minister also confirmed that the Slovak government would pay down some of SE’s historic expenses that represent a heavy burden on its current performance. An indicative round of bidding should reportedly begin within several weeks.
Besides CEZ, eight investors expressed preliminary interest in the state's 49% stake in SE. The following investors were named as interested in the tender: American AES, Austrian Verbund, German E.ON and EnBW, EdF of France, Italian Enel and British International Power.
