The Slovak government yesterday approved CEZ's participation in the tender for the state's 49% stake in Slovenske elektrarne, the dominant Slovak power producer. CEZ is reportedly the only bidder interested in SE as a whole, including its nuclear assets; therefore, we would not expect CEZ to be an aggressive bidder. Positive, but in line with our expectation.
Separately, the Czech Ministry of Industry reiterated yesterday that a new power-sector strategy should be submitted to the Cabinet by year-end, the Czech Press Agency reported. Neutral.
