The PX-50 index gained 0.92% to 448.4 points on Wednesday. Komercni banka once again generated most of the volume and rose by 1.6% after the bank announced the sale of CZK 20 bil. worth of non-performing loans to GE Capital. Cesky Telecom rose by 1.7% as speculation intensifies that the government’s sale of a controlling stake in the fixed-line operator to DB/TDC will fail, though there was no such news yesterday. Volume in SPAD reached USD 15.54 mil. For today, European equities should catch up with yesterday’s sharp gains in US markets, and the Czech market should remain in positive territory, with equities expected to strengthen across the board.
