According to TV discussion with Alan Svoboda of CEZ, company will announce the location of new gas (CCGT) power plant by the end of this year. According to unofficial information new gas plants should be build in MOL’s refinery in Bratislava, Slovakia and Szazhalombatta, Hungary as the location needs to be easily connected to the grid as well as close to the natural gas pipeline in order to have minimal costs. Besides Alan Svoboda believes in change of attitude towards coal reserves behind the mining limits as well as nuclear energy, which is only matter of time in his view.
Our view:
We see the news as neutral as this interview only reiterates previous attitudes and didn’t bring any new information. Location of new gas plants in (26 880 HUF, 0,30%) premises is obvious step given the recent decision of CEZ to friendly acquire 10% stake in , which provides good cooperation environment.
