PKN said that it is analyzing agreements made by previous PKN managers relating to the acquisition of Unipetrol and risks to shareholders. The agreements concern the disposal of Unipetrol’s assets to Agrofert at below value. Note that Agrofert earlier said that it planned to purchase Agrobohemia, Aliachem and Lovochemie from PKN. PKN appointed an independent expert to conduct an analysis of the consequences of the agreements with Agrofert, while management prepared a strategy to minimize the negative impacts of those agreements and handed over the expert’s findings to prosecutors and the Agency of Internal Security. PKN’s announcements follow Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita’s report that a prosecutor in Krakow is investigating the agreements. At the same time Agrofert denied speculations published in the Polish press. Note that Unipetrol is on Patria’s Restricted list.
