CEO Daniel Benes of CEZ said that a joint venture with Czech Coal is not currently on the agenda. Negotiations are headed toward a coal contract with Czech Coal, he said. In terms of Albania, he said CEZ expects to lose its license this month. This would not be a tragedy, he said, because it would improve CEZ’s position in arbitration. Talks about selling out to Albania fell through when it asked that CEZ give up its rights to international arbitration, he said.
