The deputy chief of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOSiGW), Jerzy Kedzierski, stated that the Polish government wants to find a financial partner for a planned buyback of a 47.5% stake in BOS from Swedish SEB. Jerzy Kedzierski declined to comment on market speculation that PKO BP could be a potential partner funding the PLN 577m purchase. While PKO BP also declined to comment, in our opinion, it is possible that the state-controlled bank would participate in the transaction, given that the PiS government is entering a battle over the 2006 budget.
