The strong gains were led by CEZ, which gained more than 5% on the day after a series of upbeat news related to future electricity pricing for 2006 where both the company as well as the market start pricing in a substantial year to year increase. Moreover, an upgrade and increase in target price from a London bank helped the stock to attract more capital inflow. Throughout the day, we saw substantial demand for the stock from London buyers and locals were also better buyers. CEZ broke through its all time high and we believe it will sustain its strong rally. Komercni was another strong performer – its gain of over 3.6% brought it to an almost 3-month high. Generally, the emerging markets asset class was a very strong performer globally. Cesky Telecom broke through the CZK 465 level as Telefonica closed its acquisition with the Czech government yesterday.
