Today is the deadline for binding bids for the state’s 51% stake in Ceske radiokomunikace. It is unlikely that any figure will be officially released this week, but some information leaked to the newspapers would not be unusual. Czech weekly Euro reports today that the potential bidders (TeleDanmark, Crown Castle, NTL and Central and Eastern European Telecoms Venture) may prefer buying selected assets rather than the company as it is, and that there are concerns about the parent company’s 50% stake in Contactel, the ISP and alternative fixed-line operator.
Also, the company is due to release its 2000 consolidated IAS results on Wednesday, March 14, which include the key subsidiaries RadioMobil and Contactel and as such are fairly important.
