The new Parliament meets for the first time today after recent election (June 2-3). The election winner ODS (Civic democrats) will form centre-right coalition with KDU-CSL (Christian democrats) and SZ (Greens), the agreement should be sign in two weeks. The new Government needs 101 votes to win a vote of confidence in The Parliament however the new coalition has only 100 votes. The ODS leader will continue to negotiate with the opposing Social democratic party (CSSD). We believe that eventually, although perhaps not in the first round of the confidence vote, that either the centre-right coalition will be tolerated by the left-wing CSSD or a grand coalition ODS – CSSD will be formed. The third possibility is new elections, which we see as the least likely.
