Hungarian government yesterday approved the green book which contains the economic description of the Hungarian healthcare system and some reform ideas. These include few well known ideas such as the distribution of drugs outside the pharmacies, the introduction of a competitive health insurance system and the stricter control of drug subscription habits of doctors.
From now on, social debate could take for one month and than government starts finalizing the reform plan and the codification. According to the PM, administrative work should be ready by the end of the year.
Our view: There was a speculation on the market in the past few days that the green book could contain some measures which are negative for pharmas. Since the speculation failed, we expect some positive reaction from pharmas.
