Actual (Aug): 2.8 % y/y Consensus: 2.7 % Previous (Jul): -1.0 % y/y Retail sales posted a decent growth in August after the drop in July. The difference is partly caused by different number of working days. However, a more important factor was the recovery of car sales. Car registrations increased compared with July and the sales showed a 12.9 pct annual growth. Sales of clothes, computers and telecomunication equipment also grew significantly but their weigh is not that important. On the other hand, sales of fuels dropped by 11.6 pct. The figures still suggest the consumer demand recovering slowly this year. We still expect the retail sales to show about 1 pct growth in 2010.
