Accepting a petition by Getronics, Hungary’s National Development Ministry has given the company further 30 days to sign a contract for the construction of the country’s new e-toll road system. The toll road system should be up and running by 1 July and most of the necessary regulations has already been made. The law on the e-toll is expected to be passed in February.
Our view:
This clearly implies that the cabinet insists on signing a deal with the Getronics. We note that even if T-Systems, the subsidiary would receive the contract (if Getronics fails to be ready to sign the contract even in the next 30 days and T-Systems wins the new tender) the yearly revenue would be roughly HUF 1.5bn until 2022 and the HUF 42bn revenue would be a one-time sum from establishing the toll road system.
