The Deputy PM said on Monday that he would prefer selling the state's 51% stake in CT via capital markets, citing transparency and speed of the transaction as the reasons. Note that the PM also appears to be in favour of selling the stake through capital markets while the IT minister supports a tender. The Cabinet is to decide on the privatization form at the end of October at the latest and is currently considering three methods, i.e. (i) a tender, (ii) a capital markets transaction and (iii) a combination of the two. The conflicting comments regarding the privatization form reflect the Cabinet split on the issue. We see the odds moving from a tender towards a capital market transaction.
