As of June 18, changes to the base of the PX-D Index, as approved by the Prague Stock Exchange, come effective. While the same issues are included in the base (Cesky Telecom, CEZ, Komercni banka, Ceska sporitelna, Ceske radiokomunikace, Unipetrol), the weight of Cesky Telecom changes. The new weight is based on the total number of publicly tradable shares (235,125,640) instead of the previously used “reduced number” of 219,675,752 shares; this a result of the decline in market capitalization of the company below a maximum share of 35% of the whole index capitalization. The weight of Cesky Telecom thus rises by some 1.6 percentage points, at the expense of other stocks (mainly CEZ, the second largest stock, whose weight declines by approx. 0.6 percentage points).
