The Czech koruna firmed today and closed at 28,45 CZK/EUR. The morning was weaker, when the negative impact of the region pushed the koruna slightly lower. But afternoon, the Slovak central bank intervened on the market to support the SKK. This action supported also the Czech koruna, more than the forint or the zloty.
The CZK gained also against the American dollar. The closing rate is 22,50 CZK/USD. The move was boosted by the weakening dollar that looses on the world markets. ECB president Trichet had a hawkish speech today and supported the euro, it firmes to 1,2655 USD/EUR.
