The Czech koruna closed at 27,48 CZK/EUR after setting another high at 27,41 CZK/EUR. The sharp surge of the rate was dragged by demand on all CE currencies. Low liquidity on markets boosted today moves. There were no news behind the significant firming.
The Czech central bank has kept interest rates unchanged. The key rate stays at 2,50 %, as expected. The following press conference didn´t bring any important news. Also the Slovak and Polish central banks decided to leave rates on hold, as expected.
The CZK firmed as far as to 20,75 CZK/USD during the day and then closed at 20,86, as the dollar continues correcting previous losses against the euro. The pair now trades at 1,3186 USD/EUR.
