The PSE returned to growth last week after 2 weeks of decline, with the PX-50 index gaining 1.1% to 759 points and the blue chip PX-D index adding 1.3% to close Friday at 1,882.9 points. Most of the blue chips saw their prices rise last week despite the lack of domestic market-moving news. The best market performers were České radiokomunikace, adding 5%, followed by Komercni banka (+4.1% on the week) and Cesky Telecom (+1.5% on the week). Erste Bank rose 1.1% to CZK 3,729. Unipetrol increased marginally to CZK 80.64 from last week’s CZK 80.61 per share.
Philip Morris CR was the weakest performer, losing 3.1% to CZK 15,908 on Friday after some investors reduced their position in the stock. CEZ lost 0.3% to close the week slightly above the CZK 172. The total traded volume reached USD 340.8m last week, which is 17% above the 12M average of USD 290.5m. Komercni banka was the most actively traded stock last week with USD 150.4m worth of shares changing hands.
