Major telecommunication operators, including mobile, will fully reflect a domestic telecommunications VAT increase into their tariffs, the Czech daily Hospodarske noviny reports today, although the sector regulator (the CTU) reportedly has been pushing for a cut in the tax-adjusted prices of most operators’ services.
Separately, the major domestic mobile operators, T-Mobile CZ and Eurotel, and the regulator have reached an agreement on the change of UMTS license conditions, CTK reported on Friday. Neither the condition change (the roll-out in the city of Prague in 2006 instead of 2005), nor the acceleration of the payments (the operators will pay for the licenses CZK 4.4bn next year) would have significant impact on the mobile operators.
