Polish daily press reports that PM Jaroslaw Kaczynski decided to nominate former PM Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz for the CEO of the bank PKO BP yesterday. Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz shouldn’t have problem with banks supervisory board approval as 6 of 7 members comes from the ruling party.
Our view: Before Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz becomes the CEO of the bank PKO BP he should be approved by Banking Supervision Commision. According to the law, candidate for the CEO of a bank should have an adequate education as well as experience. Former PM lacks both. We see the news as a negative for the bank PKO BP.
