According to Romanian daily Ziarul Financiar Erste Bank is currently actively searching for new CEO of BCR. Manfred Wimmer, who have became the interim CEO following the departure of Nicolae Danila, has confirmed that Erste Bank is considering finding new CEO of BCR, but it does not necessarily have to be Romanian. According to the article Manfred Wimmer does not plan to complete a full term at the CEO post due to personal reasons. Market rumours list among other candidates: Misu Negritoiu, the CEO of ING Bank Romania and Dan Pascariu, the chairman of UniCredit Tiriac Bank. However both potential candidates denied being in talks with Erste Bank. Our view: The news could further affect negatively the sentiment towards the stock if BCR would lose its second CEO in such a short time as development of the Romanian subsidiary is in focus of investors.
