The Czech koruna closed the Wednesday trading a bit higher at 28,39 CZK/EUR. The Czech central bank hiked rates by 25 bps today, which wasn´t fully expected by the market. The CZK so could resist to negative external influence and even close firmer. The negative factor was Polish politics, new crisis resulted in suspending coalition talks and threatens forming of government majority.
The koruna firmed against the US dollar and ended at 22,36 CZK/USD. The USD/EUR stayed very quiet throughout the day, recently the dollar slightly looses after the US new home sales report. The August number was better than expected, but a downward revision of previous data surprised the market.
